Event Details
Innovation Open Houses offer
currently-enrolled students a chance to visit interesting companies in and
around Boston. (We think of them as "a backstage pass" to cool local
companies. They're definitely not job/internship interviews, so relax.) To
participate, you'll need to register here.

Zipcar, founded in Boston in 2000, is now the largest car-sharing company in the world, with more than 6,000 vehicles and 350,000 members in North America and the UK. In 2009, the company introduced its first iPhone app as part of an Apple keynote address, and Fortune dubbed Zipcar "the best new idea in business."
At this open house, you'll get an overview of the business from Zipcar CEO Scott Griffith, chief marketing officer Rob Weisberg, VP of university operations Matt Malloy, and Dan Curtin, the general manager of Zipcar's Boston operations. As always, there will be a tour of the office and time for your questions.
A few things we ask, to make this open house fun, effective, and accessible to as many students as possible:
- Please don't grab a spot unless you're certain you can go.
- Please don't grab a spot for anyone other than yourself.
- Please don't grab a spot unless you are a currently-enrolled student (IDs will be checked.)
- Check out Zipcar's Web site before you come (and ideally their iPhone app, too, if you are a member). You may also want to watch the video interview below with CEO Scott Griffith.
- Come with at least one question you'd like to ask about Zipcar.
- Right now, we're asking that students register for no more than three open houses per academic year. (This policy may change.)
Zipcar is closest to the Lechmere stop at the end of the T's green line, but you can also get there by taking the red line to Kendall and walking 12-15 minutes.
